Storyboard

    At first, it was very challenging to come up with different aspects for the film. However, as soon as we got our ideas flowing, we were able to come up with drama and comedy bits for our film that fit the theme perfectly. We were able to successfully come up with several scenes that we feel confident in our ability to recreate and that will be funny or dramatic. Our storyboard helped us develop our concept because we were able to come up with our main idea that all the girls all like the same boy which will be the drama element, as well as everyone at the school having very different personalities, which will contribute to the comedic effect.  

    By creating the storyboard, it gave us a very easy layout to follow when we get to filming. It will be much easier to follow the scenes and get the filming done using the storyboard to know exactly what we are trying to film. It enhanced our concept by getting us thinking of different scenes that could be full of action and help develop the plotline. It also helped us distinguish the dramatic element, which will be the three best friends all liking and going after the same boy (Troy), and the comedic part, which will be small parts like when they first interact with their teacher and small scenes with interactions between other kids. 

As stated in the article, "Filmmaking across the curriculum: a beginner's guide” by Annemarie O'Brien they state, “It is important to get the idea for the film right. It is the quality of the idea that has the greatest impact on the quality of the final product.” This quote supports what we did with the storyboard because we finally got our main idea solidified and now we are able to further plan into our film. In the other article, Storyboard your way to success, they explain, “Storyboarding is flexible. It is comprehensive. And it allows a group to generate a lot of ideas. Its only major drawback is that it takes a lot of time.” This applied to our group because out storyboard took us several days but we were able to come up with several good ideas to use in our film.
